William Gumede, Associate Professor at WSG, initially advised UNESCO to conceptualise the 2016 World Social Science Report.
Gumede advised UNESCO to identify the main intersecting global issues the report should focus on and was then involved in the subsequent phase, advising on the initial drafts, reviewing the quality, relevance, overall structure and ordering of the parts; and making suggestions as to what needed to be revised, excised or improved.
