School of Law Prizegiving Event 2019

- SOL

Top students recognised at Prizegiving.

Top performing students in the 2018 academic year were recognised at the Schools annual prizegiving event

The Wits School of Law’s brightest students were recognised at a prizegiving event that took place on Wednesday 24 July. The event was hosted by Head of School, Professor Wesahl Domingo with Justice Lebogang Modiba giving a guest lecture.

Students were recognised with monetary and book prizes sponsored by a range of alumni and corporate donors. This was the first year in which Justice Dikgang Moseneke prizes were awarded following a donation from the former Chancellor of Wits University.

Justice Modiba, a Wits School of Law alumnus, gave a speech recalling her time growing up in Alexandra, managing her studies and also supporting her family. She spoke about her experience as a Black woman from a township background navigating the South African legal world. Her speech left students, parents and staff inspired.

Congratulations to the School’s top-performing students.
