mySOS Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get the MySOS app installed on my device?

  • Android users can download the app from the Play Store
  • Apple users can download the app from the Apple Store
  • Blackberry and Windows devices are not supported i.e. there is no App for these devices.

Why am I failing to download the app on my device? 

  • Your device must have a GPS in order to download mySOS
  • Ensure that you are running Android version 4 or later
  • Ensure that you are using an iPhone 4/5/6 running on IOS 5 or later
  • Check you have enough data
  • Check you have enabled the data connection on your device

My App doesn’t reflect the Wits emblem?

  • Ensure your contact details reflected on the Wits Self Service are up to date. Once updated, it will take some days to update your number so the app reflects the Wits emblem.

Can I register more than one phone on the App?

  • Currently any user can only have 1 registered phone number on the app for the Wits emblem to appear. You can however register another number with a different email address though this number may not show the Wits emblem.

How do I use any of the features on the app?
