Short Courses at the Mandela Institute
The Mandela Institute offers continuing professional development in the form of stand-alone short courses. These courses are aimed at practitioners and law graduates who wish to gain new knowledge or update their skills, or to graduates who want to learn about various aspects of the law.
1st Semester Courses 2024
The following courses will be on offer in the 1st semester 2024:

2nd Semester Courses 2024
The following courses will be on offer in the 2nd semester 2024:
This is a 9 week long course where participants attend lectures from 17:30 to 19:30 once a week on a Monday. Dates to be finalised for 2024.
The programme is organised into 4 day and a half face-to-face sessions, two weeks apart. Dates to be finalised for 2024.
This course is presented online where participants will participate in online lectures from 09:00 to 13:30 during the period 29 June to 7 September 2024.
The Mandela Institute at the School of Law, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, is offering the Labour Dispute Resolution Practice postgraduate certificate course in collaboration with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) and the Labour Relations Practice Industry.
This is a block release course where participants attend lectures on a Saturday from 08:30 to 17:00 and on a Tuesday and Thursday evening from 17:30 to 20:30 during the period 27 January to 10 February 2024. It will also be offered during the period 18 May to 15 June 2024.
